Convergence properties of the heat balance integral method. (English) Zbl 0568.73119
The convergence properties of the heat balance integral method are discussed. It is shown that, with a particular mode of subdivision and a piecewise profile, the approximate solution of a simple conduction problem converges formally to the exact solution.
