Fuzzy-set-theoretic differences and inclusions and their use in the analysis of fuzzy equations. (English) Zbl 0549.03020
Multiple valued logical connectives for representing fuzzy set theoretic intersection, union, complement, difference and set inclusion are presented with procedures for their generation. Their importance in equations involving fuzzy numbers is stressed. A new fuzzy arithmetic, based upon inclusion, is proposed in which errors (imprecision) are compensated. Its potential applicability in optimization is outlined.
