Summary: Optimal power flow with transient stability constraints (OTS) is an effective tool for power system operation since it considers economy and dynamic stability simultaneously. Therefore, a method to establish OTS based on constraints conversion is proposed. By using the functional transformation technology, OTS is converted into a semi-infinite programming (SIP), which has the same dimension as the common optimal power flow (OPF). Based on the active strategy, an iterative method is presented for the reformulated SIP problem, in which the number of inequality constraints in the subproblem is reduced. Two practical OTS examples show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
