There are 28 papers selected from 41 contributions presented by engineers and mathematicians during the Euromech 250 in June 1989, in Como, Italy. A homogeneity of topics has not been obtained due to a wide variety of backgrounds, interests and objectives. 6 sessions have introduced a partial order among the collection of papers.
