A stability theorem for fourth order differential equation. (Chinese. English summary) Zbl 0644.34047

Sufficient conditions for the uniform asymptotic stability (in the large) of the trivial solution of following fourth order nonlinear differential equation \(\bar x+\psi (\ddot x)\dddot x+\phi (\dot x,\ddot x)+g(x,\dot x)+f(x)=P(t,x,\dot x,\ddot x,\dddot x)\) are given. We prove a stability theorem that extends earlier results.
