Ranking decision making units using a common-weight DEA model. (Chinese. English summary) Zbl 1265.90182
Summary: Efficiency and ranking are of great academic value and practical importance, receiving lot of attention recently. DEA has been accepted as a useful ranking tool. However, almost all DEA-related ranking approaches are based on self-evaluation efficiency. That is to say, each DMU chooses its most favorite weights, and the resulted efficiencies have little meaning as a ranking base. Therefore, this paper advances a ranking technique based on a common-weight DEA model. In the four-step model each DMU’s efficiency score is decomposed into two parts: one is the technical efficiency, and the other is the acceptance degree of its weight preference structure. A numeral example is given to demonstrate the approach.
