The determination of weighting matrices by expected eigenvalues and expected eigenvectors in closed-loop systems, and the determination of an initial matrix for the iterative solution of the algebraic Riccati equation by asymptotic optimal regulator behaviour are studied. Based on this, an optimal quadratic asymptotic design approach for linear regulators is presented. A program has been developed. Test results show that this method is feasible.
