Semantic cache – optimizing the semistructured data queries. (English) Zbl 1249.60158
Summary: The appearance of XML has raised many problems regarding the efficient obtaining of information from different remote XML sources over the Internet. A semantic cache technology can improve the efficiency of an XML data querying process in the Web environment. The semantic cache exploits the idea of reusing query results in order to respond to new queries based on some inclusion and rewriting techniques. This paper presents a design space for semantic cache systems and proposes a new improved formula for partial cache replacement strategies.
