Summary: We study a general form of J. Peetre’s $${\mathcal K}$$- and $${\mathcal J}$$-methods of interpolation for Banach triples. Special emphasis is given to the equivalence theorem for $${\mathcal K}$$- and $${\mathcal J}$$-spaces and to reiteration theorem.
