From the introduction: The time-dependent flow of a Bingham fluid in the annular region between infinitely long concentric coaxial cylinders is considered. While it is formally possible to consider several configurations of core formation for the steady-state solution, it is not clear how the Bingham model should be employed in admitting these regimes in a transient solution of the problem. For this reason,this investigation assumes a priori that any solid phase is initially attached to the fixed outer cylinder, with the liquid phase adjacent to the rotating inner cylinder. The location of the interface separating the liquid anti solid phases of the flow is of particular interest here. We present a numerical scheme for predicting the extent of the fluid phase about the inner cylinder.
