A systolic design for the A.O.R. and S.A.O.R. iterative methods for solving linear systems. (English) Zbl 0813.65073

Summary: The systolic design for the accelerated overrelaxation (A.O.R.) iterative method of A. Hadjidimos [Math. Comput. 32, 149-157 (1978; Zbl 0382.65015)] for solving large linear systems of linear equations is presented based on VLSI techniques for the Jacobi, Gauss-Seidel, successive overrelaxation (S.O.R.) and symmetric S.O.R. methods. Finally the strategy of V. Conrad and Y. Wallach [Numer. Math. 27, No. 4, 371-372 (1977; MR 55.4640)] is used to accomplish the symmetric A.O.R. method involving no extra computational work.
