A Galerkin approximation solution for heat transfer in thin bars. (English) Zbl 0679.73054
The Sturm-Liouville equation with Newton boundary conditions is considered. In order to approximate classical solutions via Galerkin projection technique, a polynomial basis of trial functions is proposed and tested. Finite element techniques are also mentioned.
