Influence of different factors on the diffusion approximation accuracy for the transport equation in plane-parallel case. (Russian) Zbl 1045.35089

Summary: In suppression of the scattering case, two models of radiation transport theory in the plane-parallel case (the transport equation and its diffusion approximation) are compared. Influence of different factors on proximity of solutions (optical moving off the domain boundaries and inner non-homogeneities, the anisotropy level of incoming radiation) is analysed. Special attention is paid to the question of boundary condition choice for the diffusion equation. Mainly traditional boundary conditions for optically thick domains are used.
