Nishimoto, Katsuyuki; Kalla, Shyam L. Use of fractional calculus to solve certain linear differential equations. (English) Zbl 0668.34012 J. Coll. Eng., Nihon Univ., Ser. B 30, 22-28 (1989). Fractional calculus is used to obtain particular solutions of certain non-homogeneous linear differential equations of second order. We consider differential equations of the hypergeometric-type and Laguerre- type. Corresponding homogeneous cases are also considered. Further, we show that the method Nishimoto uses for obtaining the particular solution of linear non-homogeneous ordinary differential equations can be extended to obtain the corresponding general solution.
