A radial point interpolation meshless method with polynomial basis for axi-symmetric solids. (Chinese. English summary) Zbl 1289.74165

Summary: A radial point interpolation meshless method with polynomial basis is applied to solving axi-symmetric problems. The meshless discrete equation of axi-symmetric problems of solid mechanics is obtained. The numerical calculation of the thick wall cylinder is carried out by means of the meshless method, and the meshless numerical model is established. The distribution of radial displacement and the distribution of radial stress and circumferential stress under uniform external pressure are researched. The numerical results are analyzed and compared with those of the finite element method. They show good agreement and verify the feasibility of the application of the proposed method in engineering the axi-symmetric problem. The numerical results show that this method has high accuracy, good stability and good application prospects.
