Abridged English version) Zbl 0769.73072 C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. I, 316, No. 1, 121-125 (1993). Summary: We consider dynamic motion of a one-dimensional shearing system undergoing frictional slip. The system consists of two infinite elastic slabs in frictional contact. The Coulomb law modelling the contact uses a friction coefficient which depends on the sliding velocity. Under appropriate assumptions on this coefficient we can explain how a shock can be created from very smooth initial data and very slow loads. This shock travels from the contact interface as an elastic wave. Moreover, the wave obtained by acceleration will be different from the wave obtained by deceleration.
