An optimal strategy for increasing fish production. (English) Zbl 1187.91145

Summary: A logistic model is studied for application in fish harvesting. We impulsively put additional food (aquatic) into the lake to enlarge the carrying capacity. Thus, after a period of time, the amount of fish can reach a high level. We get an optimal strategy from the view point of ecology and economics. Our first examples give detailed strategies. And the last examples compare the effects of different \(A\)s and \(T\)s. Finally, we interpret our mathematical and simulated results of ecological and economical applications, and a brief discussion is presented.
