Appl. 28, No. 4, 881-883 (2008). Summary: Web service description and discovery technologies are studied. Then OWL-S is extended and a Web service discovery algorithm is proposed because the presently available service discovery mechanism has weaker quality of service description, less service classification, narrower match scope and lower efficiency. Web services are described using tree structure, different weights to nodes are given according to certain strategy and services are stored by classification. Web services requests are pretreated and oriented services classifications are located firstly, then the Web services are matched by using certain semantic similarity calculation method based on WordNet or HowNet and using assistant technology. The experiments prove that this algorithm has higher precision and recall than others.
