Lie, On the influence of geometry on the development of mathematics; F. Engel, The taste in modern mathematics; F. Hausdorff, The space problem; H. Liebmann, Necessity and liberty in mathematics; W. Blaschke, Circle and a sphere; L. Lichtenstein, On the interaction between astronomy and mathematics.
The two editors added a useful biographical appendix concerning all eight mathematicians and eight partly yet unpublished archival sources.
