Proceedings of a special research quarter at the Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA, May 1996. Berlin: de Gruyter. Ohio State Univ. Math. Res. Inst. Publ. 7, 17-25 (1998). The radical of a vertex operator algebra is defined as the subspace of elements whose vertex operator has zero weight-preserving component. The authors give some decomposition properties of the radical for a vertex operator algebra with the weights of nonnegative integers and the weight-0 subspace spanned by the vacuum vector. For the entire collection see [Zbl 0897.00027].
