Chen, Lanfeng; Yang, Jingyu; Cui, Song; Pan, Qingchao; Li, Liu MATLAB simulation of curve fitting based on least-squares. (Chinese. English summary) Zbl 1313.65021 J. Shenyang Norm. Univ., Nat. Sci. 32, No. 1, 75-79 (2014). Summary: The principle of curve fitting based on least squares method is introduced. The method of curve fitting by a function, the method of curve fitting by a graphical interface and the method of curve fitting by a fitting toolbox are analyzed by examples specifically. The effects and characteristics of various methods of fitting are compared and analyzed. The following conclusions by analyzing are obtained: there is a need for a better understanding of the fitting function and the related programs have to be written using the method of curve a fitting by a function. This method is more flexible. The characteristics are intuitive, simple and the parameters and residuals of the fitting equation can be obtained by using the method of curve fitting by a graphical interface or by a fitting toolbox. The fitting accuracy is high and the effect is good.
