Interface waves of a weakly viscous fluid in a circular cylindrical vessel subjected to a vertical excitation. (Chinese. English summary) Zbl 1313.76040

Summary: The two time scales perturbation method is used to study the motion of the interface standing waves between two immiscible liquids in a circular cylindrical vessel subjected to a vertical oscillation. It is assumed that the fluid in the circular cylindrical vessel is incompressible and the motion is irrotational, the influences of external excitation and surface tension are also taken into consideration. Based on the assumption of the weakly viscous fluid, the flow field is divided into the outer potential flow layer and viscous boundary layer. The amplitude equation is derived from the compatibility conditions, and the analytic expression of damping coefficients is given.
