Trend-free block designs for diallel cross experiments. (English) Zbl 1292.92011
Summary: Block designs for diallel cross experiments are investigated under a model that includes a trend effect within each block. A block design is called trend-free if the information matrix (of the parameters of interest) under a model with trend effects is the same as under a model without trend effects. Trend-free designs are characterized and a necessary parametric condition for a diallel cross design to be linear trend-free is obtained. Results on the existence of linear trend-free designs for diallel crosses are presented.
