A uniqueness theorem in linear viscoelasticity. (Italian. English summary) Zbl 0667.73027

We prove that the dynamic problem of linear viscoelasticity has a unique weak solution. We assume neither that the quasi-static approximation holds, nor that the past history of the displacement is known. We require the instantaneous elastic response to be greater than a value depending on the memory of the material and the asymptotic behaviour in the past of the admissible solutions.
